I have always loved the Christmas season.  I enjoy all of the hustle and bustle and excitement of the season. I enjoy the lights and trees, the songs and the parties. I know what you’re thinking: those are not the important parts of the season. All of the Christmas events and activities for kids and families should not be the focus of the season. But for me they are, because they are all spent with family and lead up to a special day, Christmas. When I was little, we’d head into New York City as a family every Christmas season. We’d get dressed up and my mom would pack us into the car and we’d pick my dad up at work at The World Trade Center. For a kid, the World Trade Center was a big, incredible site any day of the year, but decorated for Christmas, the lobby was even more amazing. We’d all go out to dinner together, somewhere way fancier than our usual and we’d visit FAO Schwartz. Those are some of my favorite childhood memories – and always memories where we were all together enjoying the Christmas season.

Speaking of family traditions at the holidays, one of my favorite as a child was getting a Christmas dress. It was always the fanciest dress I got all year and one we would pass on to other girls in our family. Since having little girls of my own, I love getting them a special Christmas dress. All of the dresses throughout this post are from Strasburg Children. Their Holiday Collection is beautiful, classic and certainly something that will be passed down in the family.
